WE WOULD RATHER BE TOLD
If something on HEXASPEAR is wrong, we want to know.
Email hexaspear@gmail.com with the page and what you believe is incorrect. Every report is read and checked against the source.
FOUR KINDS OF CHANGE
Minor Correction A typographical, formatting or grammatical change that does not alter meaning. Made quietly.
Factual Correction An incorrect factual statement is corrected. The page records that it was corrected.
Material Update New information materially changes or expands the piece. The page records that it was updated, and when.
Retraction Content is withdrawn, because it is fundamentally unreliable or should no longer stand. We say that it was retracted rather than deleting it silently.
WHAT YOU WILL SEE ON THE PAGE
For a meaningful factual change, the piece carries a visible note:
- Updated: [date] — for a material update
- Correction: an earlier version incorrectly stated… — for a factual correction
A correction that is hidden is not a correction. We would rather the record showed that we got something wrong than have it quietly read as though we never did.
