Advertising & Sponsorship Policy

WHERE THINGS STAND TODAY

HEXASPEAR does not currently carry third-party display advertising.

There are no banner ads, no advertising networks and no advertising cookies on this Platform. The service is funded by paid access.

This page sets out how we would handle commercial content if that changes, so the rules exist before the money does rather than after it.

FOUR DIFFERENT THINGS, NOT ONE

Third-party display advertising — conventional banner or display advertising served by an advertising network. Not currently used.

Direct sponsorship — a commercial partner supports HEXASPEAR or a part of it, and is named.

Partner-supported content — a disclosed project produced with the support of a partner.

Affiliate links — links that may earn HEXASPEAR a commission. Not currently used. If they are introduced, the disclosure will appear next to the affected content, not only on this page.

HOW COMMERCIAL CONTENT IS LABELLED

Sponsored or partner-supported content will be clearly identified, so that you can tell commercial material apart from independent HEXASPEAR editorial content.

The label appears at the beginning of the content, not at the end of a long page. It will read Sponsored, Paid Partnership or Partner Content.

We will not use vague words such as "featured", "collaborated" or "special" where payment materially influenced publication.

WHAT MONEY DOES NOT BUY

Payment does not guarantee favourable editorial coverage, ratings, recommendations or conclusions.

A sponsor may review sponsored material for factual accuracy about their own products or services. A sponsor does not control HEXASPEAR's independent editorial coverage.

Independent editorial content is not changed solely because an advertiser or sponsor asks for favourable treatment.

We will not accept sponsorship from a company in exchange for a place in our independent recommendations. Selling a slot is ordinary business; selling our judgement is not.

IF YOU HAVE PAID FOR ACCESS

Paid HEXASPEAR access may remove third-party display advertising.

Clearly labelled sponsorships, partner-supported projects and other disclosed commercial content may still appear. Where we say "no third-party display ads", that is exactly what we mean — it is not a promise that no commercial content of any kind will ever be published.

USERS UNDER 18

Where we know a user is under 18:

  • We do not serve advertising targeted at them
  • We do not build advertising profiles from their behaviour
  • We do not carry out behavioural monitoring prohibited by applicable law
  • Where advertising appears at all, we prefer contextual advertising over targeted advertising
  • Sponsored content remains clearly identified
